The hockey world was shocked on Sunday to see NHL star Taylor Hall sign a one-year, $8 million dollar contract with the Buffalo Sabres.

Hall joined the NHL in 2010 after being selected first overall by the Edmonton Oilers. He scored 328 points in his six seasons with the Oilers before being traded to the Devils in 2016, and then to the Coyotes in 2019. The former Hart Trophy winner was one of the most popular players on the market and not many expected him to sign with a team in a playoff drought.

Fans, journalists and other networks took to Twitter to share their surprised reactions and wonder what went through Hall's mind when making this big decision.

It's safe to say the Sabres are going to have a lot more eyes on them in the 2021 season.
