I always say that photographers have a thankless job.
We don't ask the questions in the press conference or interview the coach after a big game.
We don't record standup with a lower third telling you who we are and what we do.
We don't go on air and discuss what happened at the championship game, even though we were most likely the ones closest to the action.
Now that social media has become a huge part of sports, some teams are taking the opportunity to showcase the people behind the cameras capturing celebratory shots of a rookie scoring his first goal, the countless Gatorade baths and other images that will last a lifetime.
One team that took this step was the New York Giants. However, rather than a full YouTube or Twitter video, they played to their audience and posted a three-part series on TikTok.
Some comments focused more on the Giants' winless record, but many were impressed with the work that goes into being a sports photographer in the NFL and just how important these roles are.
